Helping You Achieve Relapse-Free Results
Unlock Your Full Potential For Health.
The key to long-term success in resolving chronic GI conditions is creating individualized treatment plans that involve multiple “levels” of care . This is because there are often multiple contributors to the disease, with multiple organ systems affected.
What Makes us Different?
We utilize a comprehensive and multi-system approach to health:
Chronic GI conditions often have more than one underlying cause. Patients must be treated comprehensively in order to obtain positive outcomes and minimize potential for relapse.
We use a WHOLE BODY approach:
Chronic disease never occurs in just one organ system. We take the time to evaluate how your symptoms as a whole may be contributing to or affected by your GI condition.
We offer extended appointment times:
Root-cause healing cannot occur in a 15-minute time frame. It takes time to gather a thorough history, identify major contributors to disease, and analyze multiple organ systems. Taking this time is necessary to properly evaluate and treat patients – and acheive superior treatment outcomes.
Comprehensive Lab Testing
Utilizing a blend of conventional and specialty labs offerings
Natural Pharmacy
Using researched, safe, effective, and clinically-supported natural therapeutics
Mind-Body Medicine
Looking at the body as a complete whole and treating the important connection between mind and health
Nutritional Counseling
Providing personalized dietary recommendations that are specific to patient’s needs
Principles of Naturopathic Medicine
The past 30 years has seen an extraordinary increase in consumer demand for safe, effective, and cost-effective natural health care. Naturopathic medicine has emerged as the health-care profession best suited to meet this demand, with naturopathic doctors trained in the art and science of both natural and conventional medicine. Naturopathic medicine is recognized as one of the original systems of medicine offering safe, effective patient-centered care that is a vital part of healthcare in the twenty-first century.
The healing power of nature
Naturopathic medicine recognizes an inherent self-healing process in people that is ordered and intelligent. Naturopathic physicians act to identify and remove obstacles to healing and recovery, and to facilitate and augment this inherent self-healing process.
Identify and treat the cause
The naturopathic physician seeks to identify and remove the underlying causes of illness rather than to merely eliminate or suppress symptoms.
First do no harm
Naturopathic physicians follow three guidelines to avoid harming the patient:
-
- Utilize methods and medicinal substances which minimize the risk of harmful side effects, using the least force necessary to diagnose and treat;
- Avoid when possible the harmful suppression of symptoms; and
- Acknowledge, respect, and work with individuals’ self-healing process.
Doctor as teacher
Naturopathic physicians educate their patients and encourage self-responsibility for health. They also recognize and employ the therapeutic potential of the doctor-patient relationship.
Treat the whole person
Naturopathic physicians treat each patient by taking into account individual physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, social, and other factors. Since total health also includes spiritual health, naturopathic physicians encourage individuals to pursue their personal spiritual development.
Prevention
Naturopathic physicians emphasize the prevention of disease by assessing risk factors, heredity and susceptibility to disease, and by making appropriate interventions in partnership with their patients to prevent illness.
About The Doctor
Dr. Katie’s passion for treating gastrointestinal disease began when she was diagnosed with multiple autoimmune conditions including Celiac Disease in her early 20’s. When conventional physicians told her that these diseases and their accompanying symptoms were permanent, she refused to accept it.
After considerable research, she began treatment with a local naturopathic doctor. As her body began to heal, she knew she had found her passion and her ultimate purpose – to help others just the way that her naturopathic doctor had helped her. During her medical training, she had…
Testimonials
“Dr. Katie Nuckolls is one of the most empathetic and caring medical professionals I have ever worked with since my diagnosis of Celiac Disease in 2011. Her full-body approach to healing and taking control over your health helped me to get on the road to my best health ever. She is always willing to listen to her patients and research options until finding the best outcome possible. If you have ever struggled with feeling as good as you think you should, Dr. Katie gets it and she will work to help you on your journey to better health. I absolutely recommend you reach out to her so she can help you feel better, too!”
“I’ve suffered from disruptive gastrointestinal and digestive medical issues for years. I’ve seen countless doctors, and have tried various treatments with little impact but significant costs. With previous doctors, I didn’t feel listened to or like I was a priority – one doctor told me that I should “learn to live with it.” Meeting with Dr. Nuckolls was such a revitalizing experience – there was such an intentionality in getting to know me and my story, and I felt cared for and respected. It felt refreshing that a doctor was genuinely invested in my health. Dr. Nuckolls was able to help me feel legitimate progress for the first time in years; I’ve been able to reclaim more joy and have been able to do more of the things I want to do without the interruption or interference from my gut. I’m so thankful to receive care from Dr. Nuckolls and would highly recommend her practice to others.” -DF, age 30
“I will just like to start by saying that I have benefited greatly by the care Dr. Katie Nuckolls provided me. She took the time to listen and get to know me as a whole person, and she integrated this understanding into a very comprehensive and effective, yet practical, treatment plan. I am forever grateful for her truly holistic approach!” -RG, age 60
